After going to see the cliff divers we went to El Flamingo hotel. John Wayne and the first Tarazan owned this hotel in the 1960's until 1984. Sold the place to a guy that worked for them. Use to be one of the best hotels in Acapulco. Had pictures in the lobby area of different movie stars that come to the place. We had chips and salsa here they was so yummy.
Outside of San Diego Fort and Historical Museum really neat info on how this place ran if interested go to: http://acapulco.com/en/tours/fuete/index.html pictures of the kitchen and of the fort. Our boat in the back ground of the property.

Beautiful Bay of Acapulco very clean and beautiful here

This is a church that people are welcome of different faiths to come here and worship. The story behind this is: The family that owned this had 4 children 3 boys and 1 girl. The two older boys was flying from Mexico City to Acapulco and the plane went down. They had a very big search and couldn't find the plane or the boys. The parents prayed and told God if the boys was found they would do something wonderful in return. The next day they found the wreckage. So they started building the church, the hands are the boy's two right hands and the cross is 128 feet high. While building the wife got cancer and died the husband promised his wife that he would finish the work they had promised God. Took them two years to finish building and that same year the husband died. A boy died 6 ore 7 years ago leaving only the girl to look after the place. They are all under the A frame church and there is one spot left for the daughter.

From the church you can see this island that is shaped like a turtle.

After a long day of shopping and touring around Acapulco I was having a rest when Larry took a picture of me. Not seeing the WHOLE picture next to me.
